Job Description

Dewberry is currently seeking an experienced Land Survey Crew Leader in Lanham, Maryland. Dewberry is currently seeking an experienced Field Survey Crew Chief. Applicant must be responsible, highly motivated, and a detail-oriented individual interested in joining our Land Surveying department as a Crew Leader to serve our Mid-Atlantic territory. Applicant must be able to work in a team environment and supervise other members on the survey crew. Applicant must have extensive experience performing boundary, ALTA, topographic, transmission line, transportation, and construction surveys utilizing the latest equipment and surveying technology. The position has opportunity for advancement for a motivated individual willing to grow with the changing skills and technology required of a crew leader.

Responsibilities

  •  Daily coordination with field coordinator, project managers and other office staff.
  • Work in a safe manner and obey all safety regulations.
  • Supervise all members of the survey crew.
  • Work independently as a one person crew as required.
  • Daily uploading and downloading of data collectors.
  • Daily care and charging of survey instrumentation.
  • Continually advance knowledge with upgrades in technology and equipment.

Required Skills & Required Experience

  • Minimum of five years’ experience as a crew leader required.
  • Must have a High School Diploma (Minimum).
  • Must have strong supervisory skills.
  • Must be able to follow directions and assure all procedures and policies are followed.
  • Must have good mathematical skills.
  • Must have good computer and data collector skills.
  • Must be proficient with the use of Trimble survey equipment. (GPS, Robotics, Total Stations, Levels, and Data Collectors).
  • Use/knowledge of 3-D Scanning a plus.
  • Use/knowledge of UAV Drones a plus.
  • FAA Part 107 Certification a plus.
  • Must be proficient with Trimble Survey Controller and Trimble Access data collection software.
  • Must have good communication and organizational skills.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to pass a driving record check.
  • Must pass a drug test.
  • Must be dependable.
  • Must be physically able to work outdoors and on construction sites under all weather conditions and terrain.
  • Ability to stoop, crawl, bend at the knees and waist, squat and lift 50 lbs; includes body weight, equipment, tools and boxes, in addition the ability to stand for long periods on varied surfaces.
  • Must be able to work overtime as required.
