Dewberry is currently seeking a Structural Engineer to perform structural design and analysis on all types of non-bridge structures in our New York City office. Building and Facility Structures Group pursues a wide variety of projects including public and private buildings, structural evaluations, structural repairs, structural upgrades, waterfront structures, flood resiliency, and transit and rail facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide/develop structural modeling, analysis, calculations, and drawings/reports.
  • Perform field investigations, observations and inspections.
  • Review shop drawings and response to RFIs from contractor.
  • Assign tasks to and coordinates with entry-level engineers, technicians or administrative staff.
  • Attend meetings with client, contractor or other design partners.
  • Coordinate structural design with work of other disciplines.
  • Participate in project management activities.

Required Skills & Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Master’s degree in Structural Engineering is preferred.
  • 3 - 5 years of structural design experience.
  • EIT Certificate is required.
  • Knowledge of CAD programs (AutoCAD and/or Microstation) is required.
  • Knowledge of Revit is a plus.
  • Knowledge of structural analysis/design software (such as SAP2000, ETABS, STAAD Pro, etc.) is required.
  • Experience with Transit and Rail or Floor Resiliency projects is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) is required.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with multiple deadlines is essential.
  • Must be a self-motivated with initiative, drive and determination.
  • Proficiency in MS Office is required.
  • A clean driving record is required.

The projected range for this position is $90,000-$101,250 annually. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly. These ranges are for NY only.
