Job Description

Dewberry is currently seeking an exceptional candidate to serve as a Water Resources Staff Engineer in our New York City, NY office for a wide range of  projects requiring hydrologic and hydraulic modeling in pluvial and riverine environments, stormwater management and green infrastructure design, groundwater modeling, and ecosystem restoration. Candidates will be working primarily with state and public agencies along with several private clients, to provide a variety of water resources engineering services.

Responsibilities

  • Communicates with internal engineers, technicians or administrative staff to assign and perform work.
  • Communicates with client and outside agencies as needed.
  • Performs technical analyses, design and evaluations.
  • Plans and coordinates aspects of work.
  • Prepares scope, budgets, and schedules for assignments.
  • Assists with proposals to provide professional services.

Required Skills & Required Experience

  • BS. Degree or higher in Civil Engineering (or related Engineering field), with emphasis in water resources
  • 2 to 5 years of related experience
  • EIT certification required, PE in New York strongly preferred
  • Knowledge/experience with modeling software programs such as Infoworks ICM, MIKE, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS and GMS
  • Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic analysis and design of various green and grey stormwater water management features is strongly desirable.
  • Experience with 2D hydraulic modeling is desired
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with basic MS Office software
  • Driving is a requirement of the position.  A clean driving record is required

Salary Range

The projected range for this position is $83,000 - $93,000 annually. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly.
