Dewberry is currently seeking an entry level Drainage Engineer with strong organizational skills and the desire to learn while participating in challenging projects in our growing Transportation design practice. This position will be based in our Tampa, FL office. · Collect and analyze data to be used in project design plans and reports
· Prepare and collaborate on the preparation, review and/or modification of drainage plans, calculations, reports, and exhibits for a variety of transportation projects
· Perform and collaborate on drainage analyses with other Drainage Engineers
· Prepare and collaborate on the preparation, review and/or modification of construction quantities, details, cost estimates and specifications
· Communicate effectively with internal team members, subconsultants, and clients
· Meet and build strong working relationships with clients and permitting agencies
· Assist with the development of marketing and project pursuit materials
· Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline (Master’s degree in a water resources field is a plus)
· 1+ years of relevant FDOT drainage/water resources design experience
· EIT / EI certification preferred (or the commitment to acquire it within 1 year)
· The ability and desire to obtain your Florida PE license within the next 1-2 years
· Some knowledge about or experience with FDOT drainage design criteria, standards, and procedures
· Some knowledge about or experience with permitting requirements of Florida Water Management Districts, FDEP, and USACOE
· Strong desire to learn and be a key contributor in an outstanding team of industry-leading professionals
· Some knowledge or experience with the latest CADD software: MicroStation, AutoCAD, Civil3D, and/or Open Roads Designer (ORD)
· The ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written)
· Be a self-motivated professional who is accountable to meeting individual and project goals
