Job Description

Dewberry is currently seeking a Senior ITS / Traffic Engineer to support our growing Transportation design practice. This position will be based in our Orlando, FL office. Responsibilities

  • Serve as Engineer-of-Record, Senior Engineer, and/or Project Manager, depending on project specifics, for various Traffic sub-disciplines (ITS, Lighting, Signals, and/or Signing & Marking)  
  • Collaborate with other Transportation Discipline Leaders and Project Managers 
  • Prepare marketing materials and serve as ITS / Traffic Lead for project pursuits 
  • Oversee ITS / Traffic design activities, and mentor less-experienced engineers 
  • Perform QC reviews of design analyses and plans prepared by Staff and other consultants 
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with transportation clients across Florida 

Required Skills & Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline 
  • 10+ years of relevant ITS / Traffic design experience, preferably with FDOT 
  • Florida Professional Engineering (PE) license, or the ability to obtain it within 6 months 
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal 
  • Strong desire to be an important member of a high-performing team
