Dewberry is seeking a Senior Purchasing Administrator, Technology Specialist to provide full-cycle purchase administration to support management for our technology spend. Source Suppliers, solicit proposals, vet submissions, negotiate, and award Supplier agreements/purchase orders for technology purchases. Responsibilities

  • Establish relationships with the Project Managers, Operating Managers, Suppliers, and other Stakeholders
  • Maintain a working knowledge of standard procurement practices specializing in technology
  • Attend training as necessary to keep current on industry updates, best practices, etc.
  • Review and analyze specifications, statements of work, pricing and other contractual provisions with Suppliers
  • Participate in proposal process by coordinating actions between Dewberry stakeholders and Suppliers
  • Review and negotiate Supplier redlines
  • Prepare and maintain complete Purchase Order and Supplier files in accordance with Dewberry corporate procurement guidance, and other applicable references to ensure compliance throughout the procurement cycle
  • Prepare Supplier modifications
  • Actively manage the procurement process from identification of need, solicitation, proposal submissions, order placement, and closeout
  • Use experience and working understanding of Supplier relationships to support Dewberry corporate and Project Managers with various technology needs under given contracts
  • Ensure compliance and act as expert for company practices, policies, procedures as it relates to all technology Supplier activities
  • Help ensure that Procurement operates ethically and in strict compliance with client requirements and law
  • Lead development, communication, and implementation of guidance, training, and support to all staff on purchasing processes and best practices
  • Assist with developing, communicating, and implementing procurement strategies and plans in accordance with overall company and business objectives
  • Plan, organize, prioritize, and perform multiple tasks to perform job functions in an orderly, efficient manner
  • Work professionally in a team environment and independently as necessary
  • Provide support to co-workers, Suppliers, and auditors

Required Skills & Required Experience

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, Finance, or related field or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years’ experience in supplier management and/or contracting
  • Thorough knowledge of and experience in the acquisition process
  • Demonstrated experience with managing the procurement process including solicitation, evaluation, award, and documentation
  • Experience negotiating terms and conditions, analyzing for risk, and recommending mitigation strategies
  • Previous experience with the full range of subcontract types, FFP, Cost Plus, Hourly not to Exceed, Time & Material, etc.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation and supplier management skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written, oral, presentation)
  • Ability to achieve agreed upon goals
  • Demonstrated professionalism
  • Sound business ethics
  • Thorough knowledge of and ability to effectively use MS Office (Access, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
  • Ability to gain proficiency in enterprise procurement tools

    • Experience with Deltek Vantagepoint
