FEMA-Disaster Response Accountants/Financial Analysts (Nationwide)

Are you looking for a rewarding and flexible job opportunity?  Why not get onboard with Dewberry?  We have been supporting the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) on disaster response and recovery assignments for over 25 years.  Dewberry is offering a wide range of career opportunities to those who want more than a job.  Would you like to be a member of our professional team that's committed to excellence and integrity?   Under an open-end A/E technical assistance contract, Dewberry is providing field assessments, engineer evaluations inspections of damaged public infrastructure, cost estimates, mitigation project evaluation, debris monitoring, environmental services, and design services on an on-call basis in the wake of natural and man-made disasters, including acts of terrorism on behalf of Department of Homeland Security (DHS) throughout the United States including the Caribbean and Pacific territories.

Dewberry is currently searching for highly qualified Accountants/Financial Analysts for our on-call team.  Candidates selected must be U.S. Citizens and able to successfully pass a Federal background investigation, to include financial and criminal history. Successful candidates must be able to commit to a  3-6 month assignment in remote locations working in excess of 50 hours per week. 


Selected Accountants/Financial Analysts will evaluate costs related to emergency work which include force account labor, equipment, and supplies across varying employee payment schedules.

Required Skills & Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; or related business field such as Business Administration or Finance from an accredited university
  • Certified Public Accountant or Certified Internal Auditor preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of full-time professional experience in field of study
  • Experience working in construction industry or forensic accounting is preferred
  • Knowledge of Public Assistance Program regulations and policies with Project Worksheet writing experience preferred
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills 
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite applications (Word, Excel and Access)
  • Must be able to work in team environment
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
