Dewberry is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to support facilities engineering projects for a government client at Fort Meade. Responsibilities include electrical design, review and analysis for client owned and leased facilities. The Electrical Engineer will also provide general engineering support , to include but not limited to technical review of consultant design packages, technical support to active construction projects (submittal and RFI review, test report approval, field support, etc.), development of design and construction Statement of Work (SOW), cost estimates, and miscellaneous engineering tasks and analyses.

This position will be required to work at the client’s location on Fort Meade, MD. Position is eligible for relocation assistance.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct site surveys within all client owned and leased facilities.
  • Develop cost estimates and schedules for design and construction services.
  • Review and provide comments on consultant designs for adherence to applicable codes and standards.
  • Respond to team member inquiries regarding technical approach, and applicable codes and standards.
  • Perform technical tasks such as feasibility studies for design and construction.
  • Evaluate and comment on equipment testing reports for adherence to International Electrical Testing Association (NETA) standards.
  • Review and provide comments on construction submittals such as equipment, testing reports, and commissioning documents.
  • Prepare an oral or written report on the status of all the current tasks on a biweekly basis, to be presented to the COR.
  • Prepare a final report for each technical task or feasibility study assigned and include all associated support documentation for record of completed tasks.
  • Provide technical services for designing Audio/Visual Multimedia (AVM) installations for applications such as operations floors, knowledge walls and other multimedia centers.

Required Skills & Required Experience

  • BSEE or Architectural Engineering degree required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of related electrical engineering experience.
  • PE license required.
  • Top Secret government security clearance (active within the past 12 months) required.
  • Must be self-motivated with highly developed verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Requires knowledge of Facilities Criteria (FC) and Industry standard electrical facilities engineering codes and standards.
  • Knowledge of electrical simulation tools such as Electrical Transient Analyzer Program (ETAP).
  • Must be familiar with adjacent areas of expertise such as Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and become familiar with how this technology is implemented with the client.
