Dewberry is seeking an HVAC Designer for the MEP Group in our Raleigh, NC office. This is an excellent career opportunity for an enthusiastic and talented individual to join and lead an exciting team of professionals in working with a multidisciplinary consulting engineering firm that succeeds through the individual and collaborative skills of its people. The position offers potential for professional growth in a great working environment and the opportunity to apply the latest technology. Typical projects involve state and federal clients in completing Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing and Fire Protection projects in the Southeastern U.S. Duties will include but not be limited to the design, drawing production, specification writing, discipline coordination between the various trades, shop drawing and submittal reviews, construction site reviews, and code reviews.
Two year degree preferred. High school diploma required.
Professional Registration preferred.
Minimum 4 years directly applicable MEP design experience required.
Proficiency with AutoCAD/Revit.
Excellent oral and written communication skills including experience in dealing with other employees and external clients.
Ability to interpret engineering specifications and investigate problems.
Ability to provide technical leadership to teams of professional and non-professional staff.
Experience coordinating work schedules and preparing progress reports.
Experience recommending changes in cost estimates and scopes of work when necessary.
Ability to work under own direction and interface directly with the client.
Pursuit of registrations, accreditations, and continuing education related to Dewberry areas of practice and candidates’ level of expertise will be encouraged.
Some travel will be required.
