Dewberry has an opportunity for a CAD Designer Intern to join our Telecommunications Group in our Orlando, FL office and participate on the Telecommunications team working with engineers, project managers, and other professionals. 

 

This position emphasizes design and plan set preparation of commercial projects. Work activities may include; redline drafting for conceptual, preliminary, and final design drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Provide drafting and design services by preparing and maintaining AutoCad 3D/Civil 3D engineering drawings that compile to create a set of permitable plans.
  • Prepare designs from general instruction and preliminary sketches, diagrams or schematics.
  • Prepare working drawings from conceptual plan, Development Plan, final engineering documents and construction record drawings.
  • Coordinate with other team members including engineers, managers, administrative staff and construction staff members.

Required Skills & Required Experience

  • High school diploma.
  • 0-2 years of experience as a CADD designer (AutoCad 3D) with site/civil emphasis
  • Experience using Civil 3D is a plus.
  • Willingness to assist with a wide range of projects and work with multiple project managers.
  • Strong interest in all phases of Site/Civil Engineering including Telecommunications, Site/Civil, Electrical, Mechanical design and construction documents.
  • High attention to detail, good organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to ask for additional direction and assistance when needed.
