Highway Project Engineer

 

Dewberry is seeking a Project Engineer to join our Highway Engineering Department in our Carlisle, PA office. This is an excellent career opportunity for an enthusiastic and talented individual to join a team of outstanding professionals. This position offers potential for professional growth, a great working environment, and the opportunity to apply the latest technology to help our clients solve their most challenging problems. Responsibilities include design and preparation of contract documents for roadway improvement projects for various clients.

Responsibilities

  • Perform roadway related design of transportation projects.
  • Assigns tasks to and coordinates with entry-level engineers, technicians or administrative staff.
  • Assists in determining schedule and budget requirements.

Required Skills & Required Experience

  • BS degree in Civil Engineering

  • EIT/FE

  • 3-8 years of experience with PennDOT and/or PA Turnpike Commission

  • Experience with MicroStation and InRoads
  • Proficiency in MS Office software
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Experience with roadway related design of transportation projects including:

    • Roadway geometry
    • Roadway modeling using InRoads
    • Pavement design
    • Traffic control plans
    • Right-of-Way plans
    • Signing and pavement marking plans
    • Drainage design
    • Erosion and sediment pollution control design
    • Stormwater management design
