Dewberry is seeking a Project Manager / Project Engineer in our Tulsa Oklahoma office to manage a wide range of challenging water / wastewater projects. This is an opportunity for a self-motivated individual to join a team of energetic and engaged professionals in Dewberry’s growing Water Service Line. The ideal candidate will have a prominent role on our team, strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to lead engineers and other technicians on a variety of water and wastewater projects from planning through final design, construction, and commissioning. With support from the enterprise, the successful candidate will participate in business development activities, pursue new clients and potential project leads, and prepare technical proposals, project work plans, schedules, and fee estimates.


  • Manage an array of water/wastewater projects for public-sector and municipal clients.

  • Manage detailed design projects while interfacing and coordinating with other engineering disciplines, technicians, and permitting specialists.

  • Contribute to the continued growth of our Water Service Line through performing business development and client management activities, including proposal preparation, and client interaction through active participation in professional societies
  • Effectively understand / communicate project expectations to project team and client.
  • Conduct QA / QC reviews of other projects.
  • Provide technical assistance and mentoring of junior staff.
  • Maintain technical knowledge by attending seminars, workshops, and conferences, reviewing professional publications, and actively participating in State and/or National professional societies through committee involvement and technical presentations.
  • Prepare and monitor project work plans, schedule and budget and perform other duties as necessary.


Required Skills & Required Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, or related field required, Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering preferred.

  • A minimum of 10+ years of experience in the water / wastewater field.

  • Project management experience required.

  • Thorough knowledge and ability to apply theories, principles, concepts and practices of civil and environmental engineering to the design and construction of public water, wastewater, and reclaimed water conveyance and treatment infrastructure.

  • Relevant certifications, including PACP, PMP, CMP, and/or ENV SP preferred.

  • Oklahoma P.E. license in good or active standing preferred or ability to obtain P.E. license through reciprocity within one year of start date.

  • Demonstrate a successful track record in managing clients and developing new business.

  • Must have proven experience managing water and wastewater distribution, conveyance and/or treatment projects, including development and monitoring of scope, schedule and budget.

  • Water and sewer system modeling experience preferred.

  • Capable of leading, mentoring and setting ethical standards for project team.

  • Must demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills.
