Dewberry is currently seeking Construction Inspector Trainees for its Virginia offices to work on projects in the Washington DC - Fredericksburg Area. The Construction Inspector Trainee performs daily assigned inspection tasks in a training capacity preparatory to assuming the duties of an inspector. The assignments follow a plan of on-the-job and classroom training established for the primary purpose of providing experience in construction inspection of transportation projects. The work includes measuring, testing and checking materials, methods and installations to ensure conformance by the contractor with the plans, specifications, and contract documents. Supervisor control is intensive initially, but progressively decreases as knowledge of work increases. Inspects excavations, drainage structures, road surfaces and structures to compare the work performed to plans and specifications, conferring frequently with higher level inspectors or engineering personnel to clarify or interpret details. Prepares a daily inspector report, which includes the details of the contractor’s work activities and list of locations, work, materials, equipment and labor forces used
