Dewberry is currently seeking an Environmental Engineer for our Parsippany, NJ office. The position will require a variety of environmental sampling and reporting functions in support of site investigation, remediation, and regulatory compliance assignments supporting various clients in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The work will range from overseeing contractor operations, general field support during multi-media sampling (i.e. soil and groundwater), data analysis, and preparation of plans, specifications, reports, and permit applications. Experience with stream restoration and dredging operations a plus. Position requires strong skills and knowledge of AutoCAD, Microstation, ArcGIS, MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access and Adobe Acrobat.


  • Assigns tasks to engineers, technicians or administrative staff.
  • Plans and coordinates aspects of work.
  • Prepares and manages scope, budgets, and schedules for assignments.
  • Assists with proposals to provide professional services.

Required Skills & Required Experience

  • BS or higher degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
  • 10 years of experience.
  • Current OSHA 40-hour certification.
  • Experience with Unified Soil Classification System (USCS), standard penetration tests and permeability testing.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working experience with NJDEP regulations. Knowledge of NYSDEC, PADEP and/or NYCDEP regulations.
  • Multi-media sampling and contractor oversight.
  • Works in a timely fashion to meet project budgets and schedules.
  • Prepares technical reports, memorandums and letter reports.
  • Ability to handle multiple concurrent projects
