The Graphic Design Manager is responsible for supporting the company in the development and implementation of highly creative graphics, presentations, illustrations, and exhibits to support Dewberry’s business operations.

 

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an integral leader within the communications department to deliver a high-quality visual representation of the company and its complex services.
  • Supervise and mentor graphic designers and their workload, including monitoring a work portal and assigning work to graphic designers. Proof and ensure graphics performed by the graphics team meet brand guidelines.
  • Champion brand adherence company-wide; protect and ensure company standards on all visual materials.
  • Coordinate graphics-related budgetary items.
  • Support the company’s pursuit of new work through the development of innovative and process-oriented graphic design, to heighten messaging and communication. Interface with marketing teams to meet demanding timelines for graphics delivery.
  • Assure that graphic solutions produced for new business pursuits achieve a uniformly high level of market-competitive design.
  • Work individually and with the communications team to analyze and recommend creative techniques to turn strategic objectives into persuasive visual content.
  • Develop graphic designs that support corporate initiatives, to include brand elements.
  • Advise all employees on brand and logo standards and graphics processes.
  • Recognize and apply best practices, industry trends, and design standards.
  • Maintain awareness of existing photography and graphics.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

 

Required Skills & Required Experience

  • Eight years’ progressive graphic design experience in a professional setting; some A/E/C industry experience preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years supervisory level experience required
  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or related degree required.
  • Must possess conceptual ability and expertise in layout, developing proposal responses, and/or large documents.
  • Creative, artistic and critical thinking skills are a must with strong focus on attention to detail.
  • Self-starter, reliable, responsible and dependable; adaptable and flexible.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment to develop constructive/cooperative working relationships.
  • Good organizational skills and ability to multitask and prioritize assignments to meet critical deadlines, a must.
  • Ability to facilitate and in some instances manage long-term projects where multiple parties are involved.
  • Expertise in design software including Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator (CS6 or higher); MS Word, and MS PowerPoint. Must demonstrate strong graphic and technical design skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to provide excellent quality control.
