Dewberry is currently seeking a Water Service Line Leader to lead strategic planning, internal collaboration, and business development activities across our water practice.

 

The Water Service Line Leader will be a market-focused strategic thinker with technical subject matter expertise. The Leader will collaborate with Dewberry’s regional water practice leaders to develop and implement strategies for sustained growth. The Service Line Leader will report directly to the Enterprise Practice Area Manager.

Responsibilities

Strategy Planning:

  • Identify market drivers at the national, regional, and local levels

  • Identify investment opportunities that support the service line strategic plan
  • Implement strategic actions to position Dewberry for upcoming opportunities
  • Develop a Water Service Line Tactical Plan, and monitor and adjust initiatives based on market dynamics
  • Develop a Water Service Line Marketing/Business Development plan to establish overall service line sales and growth objectives on an annual basis
  • Assist in the recruitment and hiring of key subject matter experts, client managers, and local/regional leaders across the water service line

Internal Collaboration

  • Build relationships across the Water Service Line through regular visits to Dewberry’s regional water practices
  • Drive collaboration (work share and leveraging of talent) across Dewberry’s regional water practices
  • Assist regional and local leadership in identification of long lead opportunities to engage Dewberry’s subject matter expertise to pre-position for strategic pursuits and development of capture plans
  • Work with the Water Service Line technology group to increase Dewberry’s “brand” as a tier one consulting firm, including visibility across the water industry
  • Develop and implement an internal promotional plan for enhanced communication, visibility and engagement of all staff

Business Development

  • Lead efforts to identify, track, position, and pursue strategic water clients and projects
  • Collaborate with Dewberry’s business leadership to develop regional strategies for upcoming opportunities
  • Serve in a client management role for strategic service line clients
  • Achieve a record of sustained growth of the Water Service Line at Dewberry

Required Skills & Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. Master’s Degree is preferred.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license
  • Minimum of 20 years of experience in the water/wastewater industry working in a consulting capacity for a national or strong regional water consulting firm
  • Subject matter expertise and high client/market credibility in a key element(s) of the water/wastewater market
  • Strong client and teaming relationships in the water/wastewater industry
  • Experience in the development and implementation of strategic growth and marketing plans for a water practice
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills
  • Proven record of successful client and business development in the water/wastewater industry
