CAD Technician/Designer – Site/Civil, Survey

Dewberry is actively seeking a creative, highly talented and experienced CAD Technician to join our Mount Laurel, NJ office. This position will support Designers and Engineers in the preparation of surveying and engineering design plans, reports and permitting documents from engineering sketches to final construction documents. This position will provide support to the various departments within the office including Site/Civil, Telecommunications, Transportation, Structural and Land Surveying.

 

Responsibilities

  • Ability to work independently with guidance from Engineers or others to prepare detailed drawings, layouts, sketches, maps, and graphic representations of land surveys and engineering designs using computer-aided design software;
  • Knowledge of procedures for the production of land surveys, site plans, grading plans, utility plans, landscaping & lighting plans, and a thorough knowledge of drafting, detailing and site development components.
  • Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to discuss projects with co-workers;
  • Skill in making engineering computations, estimates and measurements;
  • Ability to work with Project Engineers & Project Managers in a team environmental to aid with design/drafting and production of work product.
  • Ability to aid land surveyors, geotechnical/structural and transportation engineers with performing field work on an occasional basis.

Required Skills & Required Experience

  • Associate, Technical School degree or equivalent desired.
  • 2 – 5 years of experience using current versions of AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation and Carlson required.
  • Strong computer skills using Microsoft Office required.
  • Must have a valid driver's license
