Dewberry is currently seeking a responsible, highly motivated, and detail oriented individual to join our Land Surveying department in the Charlotte, NC area as an Entry Level Surveyor/Survey Technician. Candidate must be able to work in a team environment as a member of the survey staff assisting in the performance of boundary, ALTA, topographic, right-of way acquisition, transmission line, transportation, and construction surveys utilizing the latest conventional, robotic and GNSS equipment. The position has opportunity for advancement for motivated individuals willing to learn the skills and technology required of a Land Surveyor.




  • Assist the survey supervisor with all aspects of the daily field/office workload.
  • Assist with processing field collection files and database maintenance.
  • Work in a safe manner and obey all safety regulations.
  • Inventory of field survey supplies.
  • Work in the field on as-needed basis

Required Skills & Required Experience

  • High school diploma required. AS degree in Geomatics/Surveying preferred.
  • Experience helpful but not necessary.

  • Strong mathematical skills.

  • Strong computer skills (AutoCAD & MicroStation).

  • Effective communication skills.

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a driving record check and drug screen.

  • Record of dependability.

  • Ability to obtain a security clearance is a plus.

  • Available for overtime as required

  • Flexibility in work assignments and geographic locations (travel for extended periods (with per diem) may be required).

  • Physically able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and terrains.
  • Ability to repetitively stoop, crawl, bend at the knees and waist, squat and lift 50 lbs; includes body weight, equipment, tools and boxes, in addition to ability  to stand for long periods of time on varied surfaces
