    We are currently seeking a Senior Project Manager-Architect to work in the Sacramento, CA office.

     

    This strategic hire for Dewberry’s California Architecture Practice is an opportunity for the right individual to leverage their expertise in Project Management. With several exciting criminal justice projects on the horizon, this is an exciting opportunity to lead Dewberry’s Team through the entire project lifecycle.

     

     

    Architecture Practice is seeking a proactive licensed Project Architect to join our talented staff.  The ideal candidate must be client focused, with an ability to collaborate and communicate with Principals, Project Managers and Junior Design Staff.  Technical proficiency and an ability to develop and maintain design intent throughout all project phases is necessary.  As part of a team, you will work on a variety of project types and be instrumental in the growth and development of the office

    Responsibilities

    The candidate will be primarily responsible for managing interdisciplinary projects, document preparation and production, managing sub-consultants, monitoring budgets, schedules and quality for Design Build Delivery. The candidate must have experience managing publicly funded projects in California, and be knowledgeable about the state’s procurement methods. In-depth background in the design criminal justice facilities, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a California Architecture License are required. Additional experience in other project types and project delivery methods, is a plus. The ability to interact well with client management teams, Architects and engineers from other offices, and marketing teams is essential.

     

    The ideal candidate is forward thinking, organized and an excellent motivator. They will be managing complex projects and teams, and must be able to negotiate diverging project goals to create a coherent, coordinated set of documents. Experience in the field and a deep understanding of construction means and methods is critical.



    Required Skills & Required Experience

    We are looking for:

    • 15 + years of experience, with extensive Design Build Delivery experience
    • Licensed Architect in California required
    • Demonstrated ability to lead project teams, clients, consultants, and contractors.
    • Collaborative approach Project Management.
    • Expert knowledge of local code requirements and ability to efficiently interface with agencies having jurisdiction, including Office of the State Fire Marshall, BSCC and others.
    • Confident and effective interpersonal and time management skills.
    • Responsible for developing scope / fees and managing project budget, client/consultant invoices, agreements and contracts.
    • Responsible for evaluating Risk, and escalating issues when necessary to the appropriate resource.
    • Responsible for managing team resources; advises Office Director of resource and schedule needs.
    • Reviews and assures document accuracy for client(s), consultant(s) and project team(s).
    • Responsible for QA/QC processes; evaluates and assures intent of recommendations are implemented; assures “lessons learned” are communicated to Interiors staff.
