    Dewberry is seeking a Senior Roadway Engineer in the Boston, MA office to serve the vital function of maintaining the company as a leader in the transportation and highway design market.  The team player we seek must have a BS degree in Civil/Transportation Engineering, a MA PE license, and 7-10 years of experience working on MassDOT and municipal projects. The candidate will be responsible for document production, coordinating with bridge design staff, monitoring budgets and schedules, marketing new projects, preparing proposals, and interfacing regularly with clients. Project management consulting experience, in-depth background in the design of highways and roads, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required. Candidates must have the ability to manage and supervise design teams and interact with clients.  AutoCAD experience is required, Microstation InRoads experience is a plus.   

    Responsibilities

    • Supervise and perform all facets of highway engineering including design of horizontal and vertical alignments, ADA Curb Ramps, drainage systems, utility relocations, development of maintenance and protection of traffic schemes, and preparation of right of way and contract plans for a variety of project types and clients. Traffic signal system design experience is not required but is a plus.
    • Prepare contract bid documents including: Plans, Cost Estimates and Specifications

    Required Skills & Required Experience

    • BS degree in Civil/Transportation Engineering.
    • Registered Professional Engineer in MA
    • 7+ years of experience in highway design.
    • Experience with AutoCAD.
      • Horizontal and vertical alignments,
      • Drainage design,
      • Erosion and sediment pollution control design,
      • Stormwater management design,
      • Grading,
      • Maintenance and Protection of Traffic,
      • Signing and Striping.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills.
