The Bloomfield, NJ office of Dewberry is looking for a Traffic Engineering Department Manager with a BS in Civil Engineering or Electrical Engineering and at least 15-20 years of experience in transportation planning and traffic engineering to direct the work of their existing engineering professionals and help grow traffic capabilities. Qualified candidates should have a familiarity with MUTCD and AASHTO; HCM and HCS; Synchro/Sim Traffic Software and similar analysis tools; Traffic Signal design; Roadway Lighting design; NJDOT design standards and practices; and transportation and land use reviews applicable to land development projects. Candidate will also need the ability to prepare traffic impact studies; develop and assess design and/or operational alternatives; and develop Transportation Management Plans (TMPs) in accordance with local, state and federal policies and requirements. Exposure to project management and budgeting, preparing technical and cost proposals, and understanding of QA/QC procedures are desirable. The ideal applicant will have the experience and/or desire to market transportation planning and traffic engineering services. Applicants must possess their PE in NJ and have experience working on projects in New Jersey. PTOE certification is desirable. Good oral and written skills are a necessity.
