    Dewberry is seeking an experienced Traffic Engineer in the North Carolina market. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in traffic safety, traffic operations, highway design, and transportation policy. Responsibilities will include developing solutions to challenging roadway problems; preparing proposals, scopes of work, budgets, and schedules; presenting at professional organization events; and interfacing regularly with clients. Candidates must have the ability to market and sell services, work well within a team structure, and be growth oriented.

    Required Skills & Required Experience

    • BS degree in Civil Engineering; advanced degrees preferred
    • NC Professional Engineer license, or ability to obtain.
    • Minimum 15 years of experience in traffic engineering.
    • Knowledge of NCDOT policies and procedures.
    • Experience in the design and operation of both traditional and unconventional intersections and interchanges.
    • Proficient in traffic flow theory.
    • Working knowledge of common traffic simulation software including TransModeler.
    • Experience with context sensitive design solutions.
    • Ability to prepare scopes of work, budgets, and resources estimates for traffic engineering tasks.
    • Excellent communication, presentation, writing and organizational skills.
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
    • Experience serving as an expert witness is a bonus.
