    We have an immediately available job opening for a Contract Assistant in our corporate offices in Fairfax, Virginia. This position supports contracting activities for the various practice areas of the Dewberry enterprise.  Involves contract and subcontract management of all contract types, including commercial, international and public sector contracts. Supports the corporate program for requesting certificates of insurance, interfacing with Dewberry’s insurance broker as well as other contract-related and administrative functions as assigned. Reports to the Sr. Contracts Manager.


    • Provides interface between the Dewberry programs and the insurance broker for requesting certificates of insurance for all new projects. Reviews contract insurance terms and conditions and coordinates with Contract Managers or Legal as appropriate.
    • Assists with the annual renewal process for certificates of insurance and distribution to the project managers to ensure seamless coordination for continuation of service and receipt of payments.
    • Assists in the preparation or review of pricing models supporting the Sr. Pricing Manager.
    • Assists with reviews of contractual documents and terms such as subconsultant agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and teaming agreements.
    • Support Dewberry contractual reporting for state, local and federal clients.
    • Ensures final contract documents are consistent with agreements reached at negotiations.
    • Develops and maintains strong positive relationships with internal and external Clients.
    • Supports outreach activities including periodic training, and contributing to internal articles and notices.
    • Prioritizes work and selects appropriate courses of action.
    • Works with all Dewberry employees associated with contracting, Dewberry Project Managers , Dewberry Insurance Broker and Teaming Partners/Subcontractors.
    • Work is supervised for 50-70% of the time.

    • This position has no supervisory responsibilities. 

    Required Skills & Required Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree or Associates degree in Business Administration or Finance or equivalent from an accredited college or university, considered a plus
    • 2-3 years professional experience in government and/or commercial contracts or pricing analysis
    • Knowledge of FAR & DFARS for federal government contracting
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills
    • Strong oral and written communication skills
    • Superior analytical and research skills
    • Must be able to build strong relationships with internal and external clients
    • Possess excellent business acumen
    • Strong intermediate or higher level skills working in Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and electronic databases
    • Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance
    • Infrequent travel may be required.
