    Dewberry is currently seeking a Site/Civil - Senior Project Manager/Team Leader for our Richmond, VA office.  The successful candidate will have technical, project management, and market access responsibilities to lead site/civil design projects with initial focus on Land Development in the Energy Division.  The types of Energy Projects anticipated are linear (overhead and underground transmission and distribution) as well as site (substation). Tasks will include permitting, site layout and development, grading and erosion control, drainage and stormwater management design, development of Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs), and public outreach.  Knowledge of local and state laws and proven ability regarding site development drawing production required. Extensive coordination and meetings with the Client are anticipated to meet project requirements, scope, and need.

     

    Responsibilities

    The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for leading teams in all aspects of site/civil project design including site layout, site planning, grading, storm water management, erosion & sediment control, roadways, utilities, and permitting for municipal, commercial, industrial, and institutional facilities. This individual will manage design for multiple projects, assist with business development/marketing/proposal efforts as well as oversee, train and mentor junior/mid-level staff. Candidates should have the ability to work closely with clients and agency staff, including attendance at public and/or construction meetings and also represent the company at other events as needed.

    Required Skills & Required Experience

    • BS degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
    • 8-15 years' experience of increasing levels of project and client responsibilities required.
    • Virginia PE license.
    • Proven ability to effectively achieve positive results in marketing and business development to include experience preparing proposals (technical and cost).
    • Strong client retention and new business development skills.
    • Ability to directly develop new multi-discipline work.
    • Strong communication skills.
    • Ability to work on multiple project assignments concurrently.
    • Ability to work and interact with clients, maintain project budgets and schedules.
    • Ability to provide technical support to design staff is essential.
    • Desire to work in a team environment.
    • Ability to provide technical expertise to design staff.
    • Prior experience working within a consulting engineering environment is a plus.
