Job Description

Dewberry is looking for a Traffic Engineer with 3-5 years of experience in Raleigh or Charlotte, NC.  Qualified candidates should be familiar with common traffic operations analysis tools and simulation software. Familiarity with TransModeler is ideal. Candidates should have an understanding of the impacts of geometric design on traffic operations and safety, as well as an understanding of bike/ped interactions. Candidate should be capable of independently creating, developing, and assessing intersection and interchange design alternatives, as well as preparing traffic impact studies. Experience with alternative intersections and interchanges is desirable. Excellent oral and written skills are a necessity. Applicants must be able to obtain PE registration in NC within one year.

Required Skills & Required Experience

  • BSCE required.
  • MS in Traffic Engineering & Transportation Planning preferred
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in traffic engineering
  • PE or PTOE is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Transportation Planning principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills are required.
  • Clean driving history is a required.
  • Experience with C/AV is a plus.
  • Safety analysis experience is a plus.
