Job Description

Dewberry is seeking two Telecommunications Technicians to assist with 5G indoor upgrades throughout the Carolinas and Tennessee.   The job will require 90% travel and hands on construction.   The Tech will be required to install, replace, and repair antenna systems equipment in commercial and retail settings.  The technicians will conduct and perform construction duties to complete each project to specification, and complete each project in a timely manner, with exceptional quality and within budget.  Experience with 5G indoor installations a plus, Small Cell installation experience a plus.  Must be physically able to lift and carry 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

The essential duties and responsibilities regularly performed and normally assigned to this position are as follows:

  • Safety first. Follow safe work practices and company and client worksite policies.
  • Install, replace, and repair antenna systems equipment.
  • Under close supervision, complete each project in a timely manner, with exceptional quality and within budget.
  • Prepare for project installations by determining required installation methods and assembling the proper tools and equipment in order to complete the project to specifications.
  • Additional responsibilities as identified and assigned.

Required Skills & Required Experience

Education, Experience, and Certifications:

 

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 2-3 years min work experience.
  • Electrical and conduit installation experience a plus.
  • Telecommunications connector training, fiber testing, PIM testing experience a plus.
  • CPR, First Aid, OSHA 10 Hour a plus but will be provided if not currently certified.

Additional Skills and Compentencies:

  • Must have clean background and driving record.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate sweep gear test equipment and troubleshoot, download, and label a plus.
  • Ability to follow detailed directions.
  • Ability to work with others.
  • Can read and understand construction drawings.
  • Can take instruction from Foreman and implement directions as needed.
  • Ability to receive constructive criticism and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work independently as well as on small teams.
  • Microsoft Office skills preferred but not required.

Travel:

 

This position requires approximately 90% overnight travel. The ability to travel as needed in this role is required.

 

Working Conditions (Mental/Physical Demands & Environmental Factors):

  • Active working position that will require continual walking, standing, climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching daily.
  • Good vision (normal or corrected) with ability to positively identify colors of wires.
  • Requires working in outdoors construction or service environment with the ability to work in adverse weather conditions (extreme heat or cold) and may be conducted during daylight and nighttime hours.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods, coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously, accurately complete detailed forms and reports, and calculate figures and amounts.
