Dewberry is currently seeking an Executive Client Manager to help us further our existing relationship, as well as grow our relationship with FEMA. The employee in this position will help us manage our FEMA client at a national level, as such this is a corporate position that reports directly to our Executive Vice President responsible for Dewberry’s Federal Client Management Program.

Responsibilities

We expect our FEMA Executive Client Manager to perform the following tasks:

  • Provide client management services to our FEMA clients nationally, to include FEMA Headquarters and all Regions.
  • Maintain primary one-to-one contact with the client; attend regular meetings with the client and issue meeting minutes.
  • Schedule, coordinate, prepare for and attend marketing visits with current and potential FEMA client prospects for specific project/contract opportunities.
  • Understand the client's needs and goals, and work closely with the capture management teams to guide the direction of our service offerings.
  • Leverage all of Dewberry services and capabilities to expand our client and project opportunities.
  • Create and articulate compelling value propositions around Dewberry services.
  • Increase Dewberry’s visibility through active participation at FEMA and FEMA-related national and regional events, including identification of other promotional opportunities for Dewberry to expand presence.
  • Deploy in support of disaster missions for limited periods of time to provide high level consulting and program and client support.
  • Collaborate closely with Dewberry’s Federal Client Management Team to identify and develop campaigns and initiatives; track, monitor and report results.
  • Conduct and assist with annual client audits.
  • Assist Dewberry Service Line Leaders, Capture Managers and Program/Project Managers with positioning for FEMA opportunities through: generating lead development; participating in go/no-go decisions; identifying teaming and joint venture partners; and assisting in developing capture strategies, client solutions and proposal materials, as needed.
  • Maintain a connection with our operational leadership in a way that allows Dewberry to execute this work to compel our clients to want more and ensure excellent ratings.

Required Skills & Required Experience

  • Must have more than 15 years’ of executive leadership/experience working directly for FEMA or with a FEMA Partner (e.g., state emergency management).
  • Must have a deep understanding of FEMA operations and budgeting at the national and regional levels.
  • Must have an understanding of FEMA technical requirements related to the delivery of mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery related services.
  • Must have excellent communications skills and the ability to easily convey complex solutions.
  • High-energy - must be enthusiastic and positive about Dewberry and our people and services.
  • Diplomatic and persuasive - able to influence clients and develop strong business relationships in the public sector.
  • Able to work under tight deadlines and pressure, maintaining a professional demeanor.
  • Must have the ability to participate in multidisciplinary teams to develop concepts, storyboards, and creative strategies.
  • Must have the ability to travel nationally to represent Dewberry.
  • Must have a bachelor’s degree.
  • Must either hold or have the ability to obtain a FEMA Badge.

 Preferred Requirements:

  • Past experience delivering emergency management, engineering, architecture, resilience, disaster and/or geospatial services to FEMA or FEMA state partners.
  • We have a preference for the candidate to be located in the Washington DC metro area

Must have a valid driver’s license, good driving record and ability to pass a driving record background check.
