Job Description

Dewberry is currently seeking a Senior Transportation/Project Manager in our growing Long Beach CA office.  The successful candidate will work on all phases of Transportation Projects for a variety of public and private sector clients, and will lead, (or assist with) mentoring and managing the Long Beach staff. Transportation projects may include rail, interchanges, roadway widenings, roundabout design, bridge projects, drainage systems, storm water management, utility relocations and preparation of contract documents; primarily for Caltrans and public agencies.

Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will have technical, managerial, and market access responsibilities to lead the execution of project work and implement business strategy to develop new client work and maintain existing client relationships.  Candidate must have a BS degree in Civil Engineering and a minimum of 8 years of civil and/or rail design experience. Prior experience with local transportation agencies and clients such as Metro, OCTA, RCTC, SANBAG, Metrolink, local Cities and Counties is desirable.  The work required by the successful candidate is diverse and requires strong communication and management skills, in addition to:

 

Required Skills & Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • California Professional Engineer (PE) License preferred
  • 8+ years of experience in transportation engineering.
  • Ability to work in a timely fashion to meet project budgets
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, coworkers, sub consultants, and county/agency review staff.
  • Ability to compose technical reports, memorandums, and other written communication.
  • Ability to handle multiple concurrent projects.
  • Knowledge of local clients is preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.

Must have a valid driver’s license, good driving record and ability to pass a driving record background check.

The projected range for this position is $165,000-$220,000 annually. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly.
