Job Description

Dewberry is seeking an Entry Level Water/Wastewater Engineer in our Raleigh, NC, office to assist with a wide range of challenging water and wastewater projects. This is an opportunity for an individual to join a team of energetic, highly engaged professionals in Dewberry’s growing Water Service Line. The ideal candidate will have a prominent role on our team, strong communication skills, and a desire to work collaboratively with Project Engineers in the design and production of contract documents for various water and wastewater projects.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare plans, sections, and detailed mechanical layout drawings for an array of water and wastewater projects for municipal and private-sector clients;
  • Assist in the production of contract drawing submittals while interfacing and coordinating with various engineering disciplines, technicians, and other design specialists;
  • Assist with review and coordination of technical specifications;
  • Conduct QA/QC and constructability reviews of other projects;
  • Assist with development, implementation, and maintenance of CAD standards across the Water Service Line;
  • Perform other duties as necessary.

Required Skills & Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering (or related engineering field), with emphasis in water resources.
  • A minimum of 1 year of design experience on water and wastewater projects.
  • Demonstrated ability with current versions AutoCADD, and AutoCADD-3D; Plant-3D, or Revit.
  • Ability to create layouts from process schematics and instrumentation diagrams with minimal oversight.
  • Ability to apply theories, principles, concepts and practices of civil and environmental engineering to the design and construction of water and wastewater pipeline, pumping, and treatment infrastructure.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and be a self-starter who is detail-oriented with experience collaborating across engineering disciplines.
