Marketing Pursuit/Proposal Manager

Dewberry is currently seeking a highly motivated  Marketing Pursuit/Proposal Manager (Hybrid) to oversee and manage the proposal development process for our Resilient Solutions Group (RSG). This position can be based out of one of our Virginia (Fairfax, Gainesville, Leesburg) or Maryland (Lanham, Frederick, Baltimore) offices. RSG supports Dewberry’s resiliency solutions practice nationally within federal, state, local, and commercial markets. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage the entire proposal lifecycle including capture strategy, planning, development, compliance review, and submission. This role requires excellent project management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a deadline-driven environment.

This position, which is embedded within the RSG operational team, would be backed by a team of experienced marketers, graphic designers, and communication professionals who successfully collaborate, promote individual strengths, and support each other's professional growth. The ideal candidate is a dedicated, market-focused professional who understands deadline-driven work and works well within a team environment. You will be required to delegate work on multiple assignments in tandem, with overlapping schedules, holding ultimate responsibility for execution. Experience in strategic pursuits, geospatial solutions, or related A&E practices is desired, but not required.

• Leads complex proposals to include pre-positioning/capture planning meetings, proposal kick-off and color team reviews.
• Analyzes RFPs, RFQs, and other client requirements to ensure compliance and alignment with company goals.
• Researches, gathers, and edits proposal materials, including writing, verifying, and formatting proposal information.
• Works closely with the Client Management team to develop and execute the annual marketing plan.
• Collaborates with Business Unit Managers, Market Segment Leaders, Client Managers, and Subject Matter Experts to manage business development pipeline, initiate go/no-go opportunities, develop pursuit win strategies, craft win themes, manage pursuit teams, and the proposal process.
• Organizes, develop, and coach technical staff for shortlist interviews and presentations.
• Manages quality control of the work of technical, proposal, and graphics staff assigned to pursuits from Dewberry and partner firms to deliver compliant and compelling submittals.
• Manages multiple proposal efforts and teams simultaneously within diverse markets and service offerings with a focus on Resilience Services.
• Partners with leadership to support strategic enterprise-wide Resilience Growth Initiative.
• Organizes, manages, and supports conferences, sponsorships and speaking opportunities.
• Maintains and improve the RSG marketing material portfolio and gain familiarity with our past body of work.
• Develops, manage, and maintain client action plans for high priority clients and capture plans for high priority pursuits.
• Partners with technical teams and communications to identify, prioritize and execute internal and external communications.
• Supports RSG group in market research, competitor analysis, and client intelligence.
• Complies with corporate brand standards to present a consistent appearance/style for presentation graphics, proposals, resumes, and collateral materials.
• Writes supporting sales materials including project descriptions, resumes, service group overviews, and executive summaries, etc.
• Oversees and manages workload and team of proposal managers and coordinators.
• Maintains essential marketing data and CRM information.

• 7+ years’ of experience with professional services marketing and managing proposal development, preferably in the A/E/C industry.
• Effective proposal management skills including strong attention to detail, planning, organization, synthesizing technical solutions into writing, problem identification and resolution, and resource management skills.
• Strong project management and organizational experience, including delegation skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communicator with strong critical thinking, marketing strategy development, and facilitation skills.
• Strong ability to guide and effectively influence pursuit teams.
• Proficient in ensuring grammatical accuracy, consistency, and stylistic coherence in written content.
• Strong interpersonal skills and prior experience leading multi-disciplinary teams and working collaboratively.
• Must be flexible, self-motivated, able to prioritize multiple tasks, coordinate shifting priorities, respond to short-term deadlines, and carry a diverse workload with tight timelines.
• Must have Adobe InDesign, MS Word, and PowerPoint experience. Other graphics software and CRM database experience is also desired.
• Experienced in team coordination and oversight.
• Must be available to work overtime as necessary to meet business requirements.
• Must be willing to travel to other office locations for meetings as needed. 
• Graphics and design best practices knowledge is preferable.
