Job Description

Dewberry is currently seeking a motivated Senior Traffic Project Manager in our Owings Mills, MD office. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and talented individual to join a large team of traffic engineers in the Mid-Atlantic region, and to build a group of traffic engineers in our Owings Mills office. Primary responsibilities include managing and performing traffic engineering design and studies in a highly collaborative environment. Projects will include a broad range of safety and mobility improvements for local and national transportation clients, and traffic engineering studies. This position offers tremendous career growth potential.

 

The ideal candidate will have 15 to 30 years of applicable experience including experience on MDOT and/or VDOT projects. Applicants must have strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to lead and mentor a group of traffic engineers. Applicants must also have experience in the development of schedules and budgets, interaction with clients, and managing complex projects. This position offers flexible work hours and the ability for part-time telework.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and perform traffic engineering design and studies related to work zone traffic control, signing and pavement markings, traffic signals, lighting, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), and traffic operational analyses.
  • Manage tasks as part of task order and/or on-call contracts
  • Lead and mentor a group of traffic engineers
  • Collaborate with roadway, structures, hydraulics, and environmental groups within our Transportation business unit.
  • Prepare scopes of work, schedules, and fee proposals
  • Meet with clients
  • Participate in business development

Required Skills & Required Experience

  • BS in Civil Engineering
  • PE license in MD required, PTOE preferred
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in traffic engineering
  • Experience managing a group of traffic engineers
  • MDOT and VDOT experience
  • MicroStation experience
  • Project Management and leadership skills
  • Proficiency with analysis software (Synchro, VISSIM, SIDRA) preferred
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

Salary Range

$155,000-$205,000
