Dewberry is currently seeking an Entry Level Geospatial Analyst in our Baton Rouge, LA Office. Responsibilities

  • Creating maps and graphs, using GIS software and related tools.
  • Compiling geographic data from a variety of sources including censuses, field observation, satellite imagery, aerial photographs, and existing maps.
  • Preparing metadata and other documentation.

 

Required Skills & Required Experience

  • BA/BS in Geography/GIS/Related field
  • 0-3 years of experience as a GIS analyst or in a related field with project work in GIS
  • Working knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS 10x, ArcPro, and ArcGIS Online (AGOL).
  • An understanding of GIS and LiDAR data and concepts including a strong knowledge of various raster and vector data types, coordinate systems, projections, and datums
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications, especially MS Office (Word, Excel, and Powerpoint).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple concurrent projects.
  • Ability to travel and perform field work.

Beneficial Skills and Experience

  • Experience with advanced MS Office tools such as Power BI
  • Proficiency with Python, R, or other programming languages
  • Experience with mobile data collection (e.g. Survey123)

 

Must have a valid driver’s license, good driving record and ability to pass a driving record background check.
