In this role, you will deploy to a disaster site to support FEMA in the delivery of a disaster recovery program. As an Estimator, you will prepare cost estimates for disaster damaged residential structures. You also may participate in the inspection of damaged facilities to document visible damages and work with team members to identify the eligible restoration scope of work. Estimators must be able to use Xactimate software to produce accurate and defendable cost estimates that meet the client quality requirements. 

• High School Diploma; BS degree in business, architecture, engineer, construction or related field is preferred.
  
  
• A minimum of five years of combined experience in insurance claim/case processing roles including customer service, data entry, reviewing, and evaluating various types of disaster related losses.
  
  
• Policy Interpretation: Ability to understand and interpret complex federal policy language, including relevant statutes, regulations, policies, guidance, and direction.
  
  
• Technical Knowledge: Disaster-related knowledge and background to accurately assess losses, damages, repairs, and replacement costs. Must be an expert in using Xactimate software.
  
  
• Clear and Effective Communication: Customer service, excellent written and verbal communication skills and knowledge and ability to explain policy and regulations to claimants, FEMA staff, and other stakeholders.
  
  
• Use of Technology: Proficiency in using claims management software, databases, and other technology tools that facilitate claim processing, documentation, and communication. Must be proficient with MS Office Suite applications (Word, Excel and Outlook).
  
  
• Must have strong interpersonal and customer relations skills.
  
  
• Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
  
  
• Must be a U.S. citizen capable of passing a federal background investigation to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
