Job Description

Dewberry is currently seeking an experienced Senior Marketing Manager to oversee pursuit and proposal efforts to support our New Jersey operations with a primary focus on the transportation and real estate and commercial development market segments. The ideal candidate can be in our New Jersey offices either Bloomfield, Parsippany or Mount Laurel offices, with a flexible schedule option. This position requires a marketing background in the architecture, engineering or construction (A/E/C) or related management consulting business. The Senior Marketing Manager will supervise proposal marketing staff, with a focus on professional development and leadership. The candidate will direct and QC the work of technical, proposal and graphics staff assigned to the pursuit from Dewberry, joint venture partner firms, and construction partner firms to complete compliant, compelling submittals.

You will be required to delegate work on multiple assignments in tandem, with overlapping schedules, holding ultimate responsibility for execution. Experience in strategic pursuits, design-build, heavy construction, or integrated delivery is desired, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team of marketing proposal staff to allocate workload, foster professional development, and meet written and oral proposal demands.
  • Work in tandem with Business Unit Managers, Market Segment Leaders, Project Managers, and subject matter experts to determine forward action decisions, pursuit win strategies, craft sales messages, assemble pursuit teams, manage the proposal process, and develop proposal responses.
  • Manage multiple proposal efforts and teams simultaneously within diverse markets and service offerings.
  • Manage, develop, and maintain capture plans for critical pursuits.
  • Manage, develop, and maintain client action plans for high priority clients
  • Support Business Development and operational personnel in market research, competitor analysis, and client intelligence.
  • Possess the sales acumen to represent the firm appropriately with teaming partners and subcontractors, at events and business networking opportunities.
  • Comply with our corporate standards to present a consistent appearance/style for presentation graphics, proposals, resumes, and collateral materials.
  • Write supporting sales materials including project descriptions, resumes, service group overviews, and executive summaries, etc.

Required Skills & Required Experience

  • At least 10 years’ experience personally producing proposals and managing proposal efforts.
  • Experience in an AE, MEP, Construction service industry is preferred.                               
  • Staff supervisory/leadership experience is preferred.
  • Strong project management and organizational experience, including delegation skills
  • Effective proposal management skills, including planning, organization, problem identification and resolution, and resource management skills.
  • Must have extensive MS Word, PowerPoint and Adobe InDesign experience. Other graphics software and CRM database experience is also desired.
  • Must be available to work overtime as necessary in order to meet business requirements.

Salary Range

The projected range for this position in the following locations are:

  • Bloomfield, NJ: $117,425 - $170,000
  • Parsippany, NJ: $117,425 - $170,000
  • Mount Laurel, NJ: $112,613 - $163,000 

Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly.
