Dewberry is currently seeking a Structural Engineer to join the Building and Facility Structures Group in our New York City office. Building and Facility Structures Group is a team of more than 20 structural engineers who perform Structural Design and/or Design Management on a wide variety of projects including public and private buildings, structural evaluations, structural repairs, structural upgrades, waterfront structures, flood resiliency, and transit and rail facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide structural modeling, analysis and calculations mainly for steel and concrete structures (CMU, wood and other materials are also used once in a while).
  • Provide structural design sketches, drawings or reports
  • Perform site visits for field investigations with purpose of developing design.
  • Review shop drawings and response to RFIs from contractor.
  • Assign tasks to and coordinates with other engineers, technicians or administrative staff.
  • Attend meetings with client, contractor or other design partners.
  • Coordinate structural design with work of other disciplines.
  • Participate in project management activities.

Required Skills & Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with concentration on Structural Engineering (Master’s degree in Structural Engineering is preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in structural design.
  • PE License is required.
  • Working knowledge of CAD programs (AutoCAD and/or Microstation) is required.
  • Working knowledge of structural analysis/design software (such as SAP2000, ETABS, STAAD Pro, etc.) is required.
  • Working knowledge of structural codes (ASCE7, ACI, AISC, etc.) is required.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) is required.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with multiple deadlines is essential.
  • Must be a self-motivated with initiative, drive and determination.
  • Working knowledge of Revit will be a plus.
  • Experience with Transit and Rail or Flood Resiliency projects will be a plus.
  • Proficiency in MS Office is required.
  • A clean driving record is required.

Salary Range

The projected range for this position is $99,488-$143,902 annually. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly. These ranges are for NY only.
