Job Description

The Bloomfield, NJ office of Dewberry is seeking an Entry Level Geotechnical Engineer for its Geotechnical Engineering Department for office and field assignments in the New Jersey/New York/Pennsylvania area.  The candidate we are seeking should have 1-2 years diverse civil and geotechnical engineering experience. Transportation project experience, preferably for NJDOT, NJ Turnpike or Garden State Parkway and related projects is a plus.

Responsibilities

Field experience including boring/test pit inspection for highway/bridge/building projects, Burmister and USCS soil classification systems, pavement cores, and general contractor supervision preferred. Some experience in foundation design and analysis in the areas of transportation, structures and related projects.

Required Skills & Required Experience

  • Completed Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
  • Possess an EIT certificate, and be able to earn your PE in NJ within 3 -4 yrs.
  • Working towards a Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering, or Civil Engineering with a Geotechnical emphasis is a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Possess excellent communication skills as you will be dealing with multiple company offices in the northeast regional area

Salary Range

The projected range for this position is $79,200-$81,700 annually. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly.
