Job Description

Dewberry’s Architecture Team is seeking an energetic Architectural Intern for Summer 2026 to join our Fairfax, VA office. The successful candidate will get specific and detailed instructions regarding project tasks and also will work independently or on a team on a self-guided summer project.  Completes work efforts in a timely and comprehensive manner. Takes the initiative to either work out or research a work effort.  Seeks help and guidance from officer mentors.  Has skills in performing design research, design studies, graphics and renderings.  

 

Dewberry’s Architecture Practice has an exciting opportunity for the right individual to develop their design and technical skills to support a variety of exciting clients and projects. Our biggest attributes are our client relationships and the almost 30 professionals in the Fairfax office. Required Skills & Required Experience

  • Pursuing a Bachelor of Architecture or Masters of Architecture degree from an accredited university is required.
  • Demonstrated experience with REVIT, Sketch-up, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office. 
  • Established digital and traditional rendering and graphics abilities.
  • Candidates should possess a positive attitude, outstanding work ethic and be team oriented.
  • Qualified candidates should exhibit strong organizational skills, clear design thinking, and good oral and written communication skills. 
  • A design portfolio or sampling of work will be required.

Program Information

Summer Intern Program

During the summer intern program, interns gain hands-on project experience, develop technical skills, and put their classroom knowledge into action. Our interns are assigned meaningful work and are given the opportunity to work on projects similar to what they would be engaging with as a full-time employee.

 

Our interns get the opportunity to participate in a series of workshops and events, including:

  • Networking opportunities to meet other interns, staff, and senior leaders across the business.
  • Learning about our services, projects, and clients.
  • Professional development workshops, including a career planning workshop and a DiSC assessment to learn more about themselves and how to work effectively with others.
  • Summer-long group project where interns work alongside firm leaders to address issues that will impact our future strategy.
