Senior Plumbing Designer – Healthcare Projects

Dewberry is seeking a Senior Plumbing Designer specializing in healthcare in Nashville, TN. This role demands an accomplished plumbing designer/engineer with 10+ years of progressive technical experience specifically in designing plumbing systems for healthcare projects. Your expertise should encompass the design and evaluation of medical gas systems typically found in hospitals, ambulatory surgical centers, freestanding emergency departments, and medical office buildings. You will provide technical oversight of multiple projects, ensuring that all work meets contract specifications and technical standards, is delivered on time, and within budget.

Responsibilities

  • Would be expected to provide the following to others on the design team to effectively and successfully complete projects:
  • · Technical guidance and quality oversight, including code review, of all project work involving plumbing engineering.
  • · Technical training and development of staff.
  • · Establishing and improving standards, practices, guidelines, and specifications for plumbing discipline area.
  • · Provide 'on-the-spot' advice and decisions - technical and cost estimates.
  • · Coordination with all of the disciplines involved, including outside consultants.
  • · Technical interface with code officials and contractors.

Required Skills & Required Experience

  • Accomplished plumbing designer/engineer with 10+ years of progressive technical experience in the design of plumbing systems for healthcare projects.
  • Experience should include design and evaluation of medical gas systems found in a typical hospital, ambulatory surgery centers, freestanding emergency departments, medical office buildings, technical oversight of multiple projects with proven success providing technical oversight on projects that meet contract specifications and technical standards to the client on time and within budget.
  • Self-motivated with highly developed verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Well organized, takes good notes.
