Job Description

Dewberry is seeking a Traffic Engineering Group Lead/Senior Project Manager to join our North Carolina Transportation Team in our Raleigh, NC office. This is an excellent career opportunity to join a top Transportation Design firm. Responsibilities

  • Lead and build the North Carolina/Georgia traffic team.
  • Pair with Technical Lead(s) to continue and grow Traffic Engineering service offerings.
  • Collaborate with other Transportation Discipline Leaders and Project Managers.
  • Serve as Project Manager on traffic-focused projects, which could include Traffic Control, Signing and Marking, ITS, Signals, and/or Traffic Operations/Analysis.
  • Prepare marketing materials and serve as Traffic Engineering Lead for project pursuits.
  • Build strong working relationships with transportation clients in North Carolina and Georgia.
  • Manage Projects and other project managers in the traffic engineering group.
  • Manage task assignments and workloads and monitor project schedule and budget adherence in the Traffic Engineering group.
  • Perform QC reviews of design plans and documents prepared by staff and other consultants.

Required Skills & Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Professional Engineer license is required. Ability to get NC PE within three (3) months.
  • 15+ years of experience in traffic and transportation engineering, preferably with state and municipal agencies.
  • Experience with Traffic Design (contract plans, specifications and estimate preparation for signals,
  • Experience leading a team of engineers.
  • Experience managing and delivering projects and tasks to meet set schedules and budgets.
  • Ability to develop scope of work documents and prepare man-hour estimates.
  • Ability to provide quality control oversight for aspects of traffic engineering tasks within candidate’s expertise.
  • Ability to maintain good employee relations and project communication with both internal and external clients.
  • Active in one or more traffic/transportation engineering related professional organizations (e.g., ITE, ITS America, WTS, ASHE)

Preferred, but Not Required Qualifications:

 

  • PTOE certification.
  • NCDOT experience.
