Job Description

Dewberry is currently seeking a Helpdesk / PC Technician Intern for Summer 2026 to join our Information Technology team in the Fairfax, VA office. This is a non-technical intern opportunity designed for individuals who are interested in gaining exposure to IT while supporting essential organizational and operational tasks. This role will primarily focus on assisting the IT team with equipment organization, inventory management, and general workspace upkeep. The ideal candidate is someone who is dependable, detail-oriented, and willing to jump in and help with hands-on tasks that keep the team running efficiently.
 
In addition to these responsibilities, the intern will have the opportunity to gain basic, on-the-job exposure to IT support functions, including assisting with simple troubleshooting, device setup, and learning Helpdesk processes. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to build foundational IT knowledge while contributing to meaningful behind-the-scenes work. The candidate should demonstrate a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with a variety of team members are important for success in this role.

Required Skills & Required Experience

  • Candidate must be pursuing a college degree within the Information Technology field with an expected graduation date December 2026 and May 2028
  • Interest in learning Helpdesk or IT support functions
  • Experience with Windows, Microsoft 365, iOS and Android preferred
  • Willingness to support organizational, inventory, and hands-on labor tasks
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to stay organized
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication skills
  • Must be physically able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs

Summer Intern Program

During the summer intern program, interns gain hands-on project experience, develop technical skills, and put their classroom knowledge into action. Our interns are assigned meaningful work and are given the opportunity to work on projects similar to what they would be engaging with as a full-time employee.

 

Our interns get the opportunity to participate in a series of workshops and events, including:

  • Networking opportunities to meet other interns, staff, and senior leaders across the business.
  • Learning about our services, projects, and clients.
  • Professional development workshops, including a career planning workshop and a DiSC assessment to learn more about themselves and how to work effectively with others.
  • Summer-long group project where interns work alongside firm leaders to address issues that will impact our future strategy.
